Since his arrival in the DC area in August 2010, Rabbi Shlomo has brought new life to Aish. With his charisma, energy, and enthusiasm, Shlomo communicates the message of Jewish pride and values to audiences of all Jewish backgrounds in a language and style they feel at home with. A musician and writer, he encourages each and every individual to discover their unique potential, and to always find the joy in their Judaism. Shlomo, and his wife Devorah, have an open home to the Jewish community to experience a beautiful Shabbat, a warm environment, delicious food, and a sweet taste of their heritage.

Devorah Buxbaum Devorah Buxbaum, Director of Family Outreach and Womens Missions

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Devorah began creating innovative children’s programming at age 16, when she established an outreach day camp in the Denver area. Devorah directed the camp for almost ten years, over which she provided hundreds of children with memorable summers of fun and learning. Devorah received her MSW from University of Denver while being involved in many community projects. Devorah joins the team with the goal of increasing the family-oriented atmosphere at Aish DC with great programs that will reach every member of the family.

Rabbi Yaakov Palatnik Rabbi Yaakov Palatnik, Lecturer

Rabbi Yaakov joined the Aish DC team in 2005, bringing with him an illustrious career as an Aish Rabbi. After 10 years at Aish Jerusalem under the tutelage of Rabbi Noach Weinberg, ob"m, and receiving rabbinical ordination there, Rabbi Yaakov worked for 13 years with Aish Toronto and was the founding rabbi of The Village Shul.  His wisdom, warmth, and ability to teach Jewish values with relevance to our daily lives has resulted in the growth of Aish DC as more than just a Learning Center, but a vibrant Outreach Synagouge as well. Rabbi Palatnik is the co-author of the book Remember My Soul and the father of five children.

Rebbetzin Lori Palatnik Rebbetzin Lori Palatnik, Lecturer

Lori is a well-known author and Jewish educator who has appeared on television and radio and has lectured world-wide. Her weekly video blog, "Lori Almost Live" can be seen on aish.com and is viewed by over 50,000 people per month. In 2007, Lori founded, The Jewish Women's Renaissance Project (JWRP) as a way of inspiring women all over the world to embrace their precious heritage. It has since become one of the most successful outreach projects in the Jewish world. Aish DC is priveleged to have Rebbetzin Lori as part of our community, teaching almost every Shabbat at the Aish center. She also leads several of the many home groups Aish offers throughout the Greater Washington area.

Devora Jaye Devora Jaye, Director of Marketing and Programs

Devora Jaye was born in Potomac, MD and has since lived in New York, Connecticut, Atlanta, and Baltimore, working in and enhancing the Jewish communities at each stop along the way. She has over 12 years of experience in the outreach field, both through NCSY, an international youth outreach organization, and as the Program Coordinator for the Beginners Program at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in Manhattan. Most recently, Devora has worked as the Director of Special Projects and Social Media at the Maryland Jewish Experience, a campus outreach organization on the University of Maryland College Park campus.
